My thoughts around the US market is that the 510K will be significant, however will not lead it directly to being able to take on Urine testing for workplace tests.

Workplace tests are a growing market largely because of state legislature that give companies that perform drug testing a 7.5% discount on employee insurance (essentially like work cover here). Urine tests are identified in the state laws covering this that I could find, so workplace testing in the US will not take off massively when 510k is awarded.

This will however be an impetus to allow saliva based testing to be added to the laws - especially with FDA backing.

This leads the 510k to being important, as they can sell again directly in arguably their largest marketplace - the company maker from the US perspective would be 12-18 months beyond that however. I think we will get a company maker from another source well before that!
