It's easier if KL offers KL stock to De Grey holders in a buyout. As both shares are listed on the same exchange, from what I understand, government approvals are easier and the shares transfer can be accomplished on the ASX in a few days. That helps a little in convincing Australian investors to go along with the buyout. They can easily sell their KL shares if they don't like the company.
