Are you watching the calm before the storm with the POG? Once people realise that Russia will strike back in the form of higher oil prices, this will not suit well for this goldilocks period in the market imo. When you rely only on earnings to save the day, most of the fuel has been spent to keep this fire ablaze. Any whiff of weak us data incoming will slam the usd and will continue to indicate the uncertainty moving forward. Previously, we had tax cuts and infrastructure spend to look forward to. But what now? Higher prices are around the corner and it will be compliments of Putin and gang. This should bode well for gold. No wonder permabear GS has for once in 5 years called higher gold prices. Each target to coincide with interest rate hikes. The debt hangover will be severe IMO. This will be an interesting year.
