I completely understand what you are saying and reassessing from now and then is sound advise, which unfortunately I do not follow enough, mostly for hating to sell at a loss. A known investment mistake.
I did sell SAS a couple of weeks ago at a loss after reassessing. I started to worry, but might be completely wrong there.
I have one rule I follow in life, which, if possible, is not to work with anyone, or anything I do not trust. This costs me many times a lot of money, but I never regret it.
If the VC deal will go through I will eat the biggest humble pie ever and definitely reasses.
