The opening post was just union propaganda. If our company taxes were the fifth lowest in the world, we wouldn't be chasing money off the internationals, who manage their tax affairs elsewhere.

At some point, the PAYG taxpayer will be hit again, to reign in this governmental debt. Our main problem, is that we have such a high percentage of people that pay no 'net' tax. Many of the people on HC, who whinge about the higher earners not paying enough tax, wouldn't pay any tax themselves. Obviously, when you have such a high number not paying any tax, they become a strong voice, and take aim at the ones who already do, suggesting they should pay more.
