whatever's happening there it sure aint working that way here because as you say there are SFA sub prime loans here
The market is the only real story in the end, and regardless of logic the RE market is going up.
which is a shame as I'd like to score some cheapies. But my wish aside people will get burnt either way - in a crash with overpriced RE and a huge loan or in a continuing boom no young family will get a leg up and live disenfranchised for life
