Been a while since this one was on the radar but I see gwv (the old and decrepit xan) is buying a Yarra Valley wine operation that just happens to be distributed by its biggest shareholder, Joval. I also note Sam Atkins is still at the helm after riding xan down from a few bucks to a penny dreadful. Assuming that gwv has cleared the enormouns debt that sank xan, can anyone see the logic of a $7m debt raising to buy Sticks? At least the Margaret River brands had some quality.
