    I don't see why not, as I explained when we measure Abbott's performance vs Turnbull's performance on a number of different measures ie not just number of lost polls, there is a clear distinction between the two.

    But one of the main points is that when Abbott was PM the liberal party had some one ie Turnbull that voters clearly prefered to be leader over Abbott.

    If there was some one in the liberal party that was clearly more popular than Turnbull then changing leader may be an option, but there is not so makes no sense changing leaders.

    Word of caution there, Labor changed leader prior to the 2013 election as Rudd was far more popular than Gillard and while they did improve their polling to start with it all fell apart. Voters don't like divided political parties
