There has to be a cultural shift away from granny living in a 3 bedroom house on her own which she cannot maintain, while her children struggle to afford their mortgage while delaying having a family so both can work. It’s utterly stupid, and the govt supports granny to do it. Councils also need to change with their planning and zoning, being more flexible with multi dwellings on one block needs to happen so granny can enjoy her independence while being closer to the family. Gran could even pay rent to help with kids mortgage from the interest on the mil or more the old girls invested, so has no need for welfare. Makes nothing but sense.

Maybe if the government didn't steal 80% of grannies wages when she was earning a living she would have been able to afford to support herself?
