Extensions are just that though, to extend the time of the colloboration on the same terms as the inital agreement whereas milestones are hit when they reach predetermined inflection points or areas of interest to Genentech. I’d say it’s more just something PYC wanted to have a say about in an update re the collab. A bit like 4 previous big pharma deals got handed back but the company higlights all the good stuff they got out of them, obviously they both have different views on what they’re looking for as highlights. Not implying for a second Genentech is walking just pointing to how the companies may see things differently.
