IMO I believe a Canopy/AC8 takeover is highly possible (probable even), given the following factors and using the Aurora/Cann takeover as precedent.

    1. Canopy is already a substantial shareholder in AC8 (just as Aurora was in Cann)
    2. Current uncertainty in the US market (due to Trump's wavering policies), have scared investors and companies alike, with many Canadian Cannabis companies pulling out of the US market and looking to now diversify elsewhere.
    3. The major Canadian Cannabis companies have been steadily acquiring smaller Canadian / US companies over the course of the past year (Aurora, Canopy, Aphria etc)... refer point 2 - time to cut some fat I think?
    4. Australia has (to almost everybody's surprise) passed almost all legislation on medicinal cannabis far sooner than anticipated, granting import/export licences etc.
    5. Quoting the Victorian Government Press Release, "The strategy aims to have Victoria supplying half of Australia’s medicinal cannabis by 2028, along with the creation of 500 jobs in Victoria"

The only unknown in all of this, is what Canopy will decided to do with Mettrum (now known as Spectrum Cannabis Australia). This could pose as a threat to AC8, should they decided to compete directly, or (fingers crossed) - consolidate both brands!

    * Disclosure, I hold positions in both AC8 and Cann *
