Some great insight into the different mindsets of a trader vs investor, one that can see the big light at the end of the big tunnel vs one that can see the torch at the end of the corridor. And might I add scripted in a way to inform and impart your experience rather than degrade (not that all ur other posts have the intention of degrading, but a few do come off in this light).
So IMO and based on your reasoning it seems that the regular CVI posters are as much to blame as the CVI traders. You said it yourself, the fact that CVI has a lot of posts all the time attracts attention from the wider HC community who in turn see it as a trading opportunity due to the interest on this forum. This in turn leads to further posting on the CVI thread as more on screen activity occurs. An endless vicious cycle.
It would be an interesting experiment if the regular long term CVI holders stopped posting for 2 weeks. The CVI board would dry up, only having a few posts a day. This would presumably cause the daytraders that seek busy threads to look elsewhere for their daytrading activities. After all, what is it they say....
OUT OF SIGHT OUT OF MIND
I wonder if this would change the on screen activities of a stock such as CVI.
Cheers
