tomk48: apparently they sell just enough to push the price down, and keep lowering the sell price. Usually with small parcels, so the volume isn't very high. It "breaks through" when enough legit buyers jump in.
That said, people on HotCopper *always* claim a stock is being capped when the price doesn't go up as much as they want. They are probably wrong 90% of the time.
