Fascinates me this constant debate about the “Trinity” and yes I know it’s a word not found in the Scriptures….but neither is “the Family” concept of God. The question of God …Three in One is answered in the very first book of Genesis…….. “in Our image man was created” or if I may be excused  for saying it….in other words God looks like us! (Genesis 5:1) That is not to say that He is exactly the same but that we are His image. We are of three parts ….body soul and spirit as the passage in 1 Thessalonians 5:23 suggests
23 Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
I know the Scriptures in many cases refers only to “body and soul” but it is clear that there is a subtle difference between “spirit and soul” such that it can only be separated by the Word of God
Hebrews 4:12… For as the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
My point is that my soul (mind and will) is different from my spirit (emotions and personality). While my thoughts and decisions can be influenced by my emotions and personality, and vice versa, they are two separate aspects of my person and they dwell within my body which all bear the name “Oilburner” and which all are distinct aspects of myself! They are contained within the body of me which is how I communicate and who you see.
While I could spend hours trying to elaborate it will only be ripped apart by most of you but God is One but at the same time Father, Son and Holy Spirit and we are testimony to Him.
