In my opinion the Trinity doctrine can be supported or refuted from a religious point of view depending on what is meant and understood by "the Trinity".
I think you are right in assessing that it would be waste of time elaborating as people tend to hold onto their interpretations like a bulldog with a bone.
But it's a pity that you decided to refrain from elaborating because there are few, if any, on this forum who are both willing and able to provide a pro-Trinity perspective.
I have tried to offer different perspectives on religious doctrine to those who post on it (religious doctrine) but this generally ends in a pointless slanging match. I have been tempted to provide a pro-Trinity perspective but then thought of the energy that may have to go into a pointless slanging match. As a believer you may have more success than an atheist.
And, no, I'm not talking about challenges to the existence of God - I expect these to land up as pointless slanging matches.
