Road infrastructure is paid for by businesses through rego and excise taxes. Electricity and telecommunications through the charges levied. Water and sewerage through rates, regulation over buying and selling of property through stamp duties. Police through payroll tax. The rest, education, health etc. are all for the benefits of the people, not the business. Think. The business, or a company, isn’t a person. It may benefit from all those things indirectly, but far, far less than people benefit from the business. Without businesses, there would be no money for any of the above.
We are actually trying to build infrastructure. The govt is severely restricting our ability to do so with taxation. Almost 100% of our revenue is taxed, while the deduction for expenditure is 2.5% of our costs per year. At least Radicool will be happy .......
