    Hi Eshmun,
    I'm one of those that often thinks outside the square, and to me the recent changes to the mining laws in DRC, de-risked projects at the exploration/study stage as they added a level of certainty just by having the new laws supported by all sides of politics in DRC.

    The old laws were enacted in something like 2002, so there was always going to be some type of change 'soon' as many other countries in Africa have done.

    I agree the new laws are not good for those that developed under the old laws, but that does not apply for this stock. While I held some AVZ very early on, I sold too soon because of sovereign risk worry mostly. I only re-entered after the new rules (and a very hefty pullback). So I agree, sovereign risk changes over time, but having the new rules lessens that risk in my view, probably for the next decade, from a law change point of view.
