Why am I the problem...because I make the average Australian wage...no I dont live in WA thats just an assumption by you guys...but even if i did its not the dearest place in australia sydney is and i think melbourne has overtaken perth now aswell.
So because i make only 50k the average wage i shouldnt be looking at buying a property...so then all the other average aussies shouldnt either...does this seem right ann fair?
So i need to focus on my career path...what about all the other average aussies....are we all going to become managers/business owners/stockbrokers...who is going to keep the electricity going to your house or make sure your water is running. Who is going to empty your bins and mow your lawns and fix your roads...all the renters?
"$50k and living in WA....No wonder you are whining. You are the problem. Not the country, not asset prices, not politicians and certainly not past generations. "
Once again in dont live in WA...I maybe the problem and so are all the other average aussies, yes the country has a problem we are one of the least desely populated places on the planet. Fair enough if we lived in japan but even they had a 20 year property crash. Asset prices are a massive problem...look at our debt levels to gdp at huge record highs because people borrow so much to buy assets...its all borrowed money...not many of the young generation can afford to save much or they fall behind further...we have to borrow hundreds and hundreds or else we will never get a foot in the door. Yes politicians have to take some blame too...they havent released land, they brough in FHOG and stamp duty incentives which have only addes fuel to the fire. They scrapped cgt in 98 and they are too scared to make hard decisions like fixing negative gearing cause the baby boomers will vote them out. The only generation im giving a hard time too is the baby boomers not any before them, they all did it really hard...fought for their country, looked after their sons and neighbours....had family values.
