I drive a 2000 ford econovan which I bought for $1,700 3 years ago. Great reliable work horse. I will be looking to upgrade to another van, about $3 - 4,000. Furthermore I could never send the old one to the knackers. So will keep the old mate mostly for Sunday drives. I only drive vans. They are great. You have so many options, including somewhere to live if you become homeless. Despite having bought most of my considerable holding in the 2-3 cent days, I am not at all tempted to get a flash new car. I always buy cheap second hand ones for cash. Hence cars are only an after thought for me - never a burden, and I still get from point A to point B just as well as a Merc etc. I will going to the AGM, and my reliable old mate will get me there just fine.
