For instance I lived in a 7 bed in Kent a few years ago with a 5ool kero tank against the back wall. There are also smaller properties with them inside the laundry. If 500l of Kero goes up, I'd argue you'd need to be further than 50m to survive it but I'm no expert.

Gas is just as volatile and most of the civilised world has it coursing through their suburbs, it's a controlled risk we're already living with.

I wouldn't bat an eye at having volatile batteries on my property provided they met the prevailing safety ratings and the property was adequately prepared for it.

Perhaps we all need vaccum sealed battery rooms.
