Some funds do indeed succumb to the lure of fees given its a scale game. Bear in mind however fees are not guaranteed. They go up and down with FUM. Also, it's not common for fund manager to tie up their net worth in their funds. But you have to take them at face value that this is in fact the case. You also have to look at escrow and any T&Cs around this.
