But when management's aspirations are no longer realistic then wouldn't you (as one of the company's investors) want to hear about it? IMO they should have taken the moral high ground by revising their aspirations and being upfront with shareholders regarding the less than satisfactory state of play, instead of putting lipstick on the pig and maintaining that 'growth wouldn't be linear' but all was still on track.

Spec end of the market or not, there's no place for smokes and mirrors where people's investments are concerned. Luckily I got out without more than a scratch and received another good lesson on the importance of ignoring the hype and fluff, looking for inconsistencies (there were many in this case) and trusting only actual numbers and trends.
