What happens when lenders refuse to refinance the debt due to large gearing ratio, plummeting revenue, plummeting interest coverage ratios etc? Using your house analogy, it would be like someone in Brisbane trying to refinance their apartment interest only loan after a 50% fall in purchase price (which has happened and they are in negative equity). You don't have to get all snarky at me I am considering buying at these lows, I am concerned about how quickly this scenario will unfold.
