Sorry to be so pessimistic footsie but to me what a business is worth is a function of its earnings. As stated previously, MFS wont earn any revenue from Stella. The value of its shareholding may increase if the business grows, but they dont have any earnings as such from this business apart from dividends which may be paid.

You can forget what any brokers may have valued either business at previously because again, as I have stated before, MFS was clearly not up front with the current financial position of the company. Therefore the numbers these brokers were using to value the business are about as useful as 7, 12 and 15 are to this sentence. The funds management business from what it seems has been siphoning money from Stella for who knows how long, therefore I think its fair to assume that the funds management business makes barely any money if any at all. If it didnt make money before, it sure as hell wont now given no one in their right mind would put any money in a fund run by MFS.

Unless they can miraculously restructure the company into something that can create value going forward, I think the best case scenario is a capital return to shareholders of I dont know how much and the company delists.
