When that data was collected on PDN- now 15 years ago (showing my age) there were no bots/algorythmic trading etc.One of the things that bots do id distort daily charts- you often see a few trades go through so the closing price is at a low.This distorts many technical indicators.It helps to use weekly charts but then we see big efforts on a Friday to get a low weekly close.
Its all classic accumulatory behaviour and the huge "churnover" is not indicative of real trades.
...could write a book on it but won't.It's psychological game play.
