hmmm thats quite interesting Haplo, yes the tailing would be full or every short of sh*t and so the grade per tonne of material would be quite low indeed; certainly not economical enough to haul out in a DSO type arrangement..it would actually be a cash burner. Processing plant to deal with the tailing alone..not a hope in hell, too low grade; it would never be considered.
Tailings are just waste material when processing the target product, but the spod was a by product when Manono was producing Tin i believe; it will still be mixed up with all kind of other material also that passed through the plant and out the back so it will be diluted / low grade; however the cost of extraction is minimal, there's no requirement for explosives or very heavy hydraulic machinery , the crushing has already been done....mixing the tailings with the newly dug up product is probably the only way to get something out of those tailings..when you are banging through 200+ of pegmatite, mixing in tailing after the crushing circuit with newly crushed material and you might be on to a winner!
'Metallurgical test work to be reported by the end of May'...i wonder if anyone took a bucket and spade and took a swab from the tailings also.
Met test results from tailings plus met test results from new material = ?? interesting stuff
