Surf, I stole this from the CVI thread, geexer by the name of Raks, posted as follows
"when you see a bid or ask for 1 share - it's brokers looking for a cross trade. If an online buyer comes in over the top, before hte brokers can find a match up, it goes through as a single sell or buy and the brokers have to start from scratch......
more often done by brokers for the bigger buyers."
