Feb. 5 (Bloomberg) -- The Democratic Republic of Congo, the
world's biggest source of cobalt, plans a ``fast track'' process
to conclude a review of mining licenses.
The new arrangement will include a ``brief and open appeal
process,'' according to a statement issued today by public
relations company Bell Pottinger.
``What caught us by surprise when the review commission
started to look at the contracts in detail was the scale of the
problem that we had inherited,'' Victor Kasongo, Congo's vice
minister of mines, said in the statement.
