It doesn't leave much room to increase the offer, they stated it was a Final offer but you don't see many takeovers being successful with the first offer. Market thinks they will overpay now.
He's supposed to be building shareholder value for BHP holders, the only winners will be the rio s/h's and the touted synergies will take several years to materialise, if ever.
May pay off long term, but bad news short/medium term IMO.
