Many moons ago I worked at Telfer mine in WA, the mine was forced to close for an extended time, to long ago to remember just how long, due to flood rain that washed out the access road. They built extra storage on site, but they where using a lot of fuel, 200k litres a day rings a bell. They had no access to mains power at all, so all power was provided by massive generators.
This may indeed be advisable for us as well, at least a months supply on site would be great. Our fuel supplier should be able to help with that I would think. Even when the strike is over, it is going to take some time to get things rolling again, so this is most likely going to put a dint in May production.
