TPG is a scam, just cancelled my home phone and mobile accounts...
all i can say is so glad to be free of the racket...i wont bore you with all the details, then again why not....
considering guys lie nightmare have been bagging the s out of amaysim..well here's a real world example for you of top notch service that is TPG
to cancel my home phone line, i was forced to pay for the next month, only so that it could be credited back to me, whereas if i refused to pay for the next month they would credit back the current month fee and then recompute the call costs minute by minute for this current month on standard rates as if i hadn't paid in advance...when i told them that i had paid because i was billed a month prior it was stated that this was the way it is done....the $20 deposit on the phone can never be recouped either, the best bit is i am allowed to use it on calls with TPG, but when the balance hits $10 they automatically bill the credit card back up to $20...so in effect when you sign up a home phone line on TPG it steals $10 off you, they take $20 deposit as credit for phone calls but you can only spend it down to $10...misleading? Of course you only find this out when you try to leave. I mean it's only $10 bucks, but it should be n my pocket, not theirs for nothing!
it gets even better....then i tried to cancel my mobile service..TPG website tell you to notify 7 days before billing cycle if you dont want to billed for next month but when you call they then say when number is ported service will end..so if i port in the final week i am charged for the next month which cant be refunded..going around in circles...basically if you want to leave TPG you must forfeit your last 7 days with no refund, otherwise use your last 7 days and then get billed for another month.
all i can say is TPG is a joke and i feel sorry for the poor filipino/flipina staff in the call centres in metro manila that have to explain these screwed up policies of screwing customers out of money for simply exercising their right to change providers on a month to month no contract plan...it's basically a no contract that's a contract..it's that much of a joke i was actually laughing whilst on the phone trying to decipher the scam that this is...but hey always remember to say 'salamat'...it's not the call centre staffs fault after all...and i imagine they get abused often having to explain cycnical policies such as these....TPG has left such a bad taste in my internet it will be moving too at the end of next month even though i had expressed advanced interest in NBN with TPG...screwed me on the phones, don't like their business practices ..must be getting desperate when they try to steal from when you leave...sign of things to come..bet they will be getting even more creative now the pressure of funding a new network is on...good riddance TPG
