My pretend characted probaly makes up nearly all first home buyers at the moment...many feel they need to get in now or will miss out forever.
I know the real estate cliches...time in rather than timing etc.
I just think its going to and is creating an awful environment when and if property prices do fall...or rates keep rising...or we get higher unemployment...or a recession.
I have lost the lot before...younger and beleive it or not even dumber....i can imagine what would happen if many people lost the lot
I just find it very hard to beleive the majority here dont see a problem with my pretend characters situation other than say he has nobody but himself to blame..not a place for empathy around here thats for sure.
The answers for my pretend character were -
Get a higher paying job ( maybe some first home buyers could) Move interstate (possible but not a good alternative) Stop complaining cause we had it tougher than your generation and you spend all your money on ipods and plasma tv's.
Its sad nobody sees the real problem is that property prices are going to hurt our social fabric.
I would not recommend anybody I know to buy or not to buy personally...
