You only sell if you are making loss to be able to claim some tax deduction so others also look at this oppportunity to enter.
If this reach oversold territory, many people will jump into get cheap shares hence by July sp can be higher.
You are making a general assumption that everyone will be selling.
If you are selling at a profit, you have to pay tax so many will keep 12 months to get tax deduction.
I understand your concept though. I just highlight this doesnt work for every stock you hold.
