A house is worth whatever people are prepared to pay. For this reason houses in prestige suburbs continue to rise and probably will through any sort of downturn. Despite the cost they remain a great investment - for those who can afford it.
These people buying in outer suburbs thought they were playing the same game, but it was a scam whipped up by real-estate agents, the real-estate dependent press and cheered on by the government.
