Spargoville drilling hits nickel
DRILLING by lithium hunter Lepidico has turned up promising and shallow nickel intercepts within Maximus’ Spargoville holdings, southwest of Kambalda in Western Australia, that may hint at a deeper, fresh sulphide body.


Spargoville has nickel and gold potential.

While nickel results were not unexpected given past explorers had flagged the potential, a number of intersections still turned up better than 0.3% nickel, with the best intercepts of 1m at 1.87% nickel and 6m at 0.6% in separate drill traverses that Maximus says demands further attention.

Lepidico was drilling beneath a surface gossan known to be anomalous for nickel as part of its Moriarty project, and intersected two distinct pegmatites within the mafic and ultramafic greenstone sequences.

A geochemical review of samples showed the holes along the eastern limit of all three drill traverses ended in nickel, with the most significant nickel-copper intersections within the greenstone sequences.
