Neither "Religion" nor "Science" discover errors on their own and correct themselves.

People do.


Scientific orthodoxy may not be as intransigent as religious orthodoxy.

But the unorthodox are unwelcome in science as well as in religion.

It is the nature of human beings to maintain they are right, and resist challenges to their conceptions,

whether the field is religion, science, politics, or anything else.

Wherever human beings are involved, their weaknesses will show themselves.
