I consider myself as a devotee of science and have been studying it all my life. A few years back I attended an open day at a local university with the idea of enrolling in a course. I had no idea what course I would do. Anyway, I had a long discussion with one of the biology lecturers on evolution and he invited me to enroll in one of his second year courses. I told him that my formal education in biology didn't extend beyond Kindergarten. He said that didn't matter because my informal education obviously took me beyond that of his stuI study dents who had been studying for more than a year full time. Science for me is good at enabling us to understanding our physical universe - a strength is that it is work in progress and therefore admits that we have a lot to learn and are often wrong. It is also limited in its scope. In spite of this we live in a world surrounded by the discoveries of science - a bit like marriage, I guess; for better and for worse it is with us.

I respect and science also. I read about it, quite a bit in astronomy and medicine; although I have deeper
