Could you please explain what you mean by "outside of the physical domain"? Can it be detected, and if so how is it detected ?"
If we accept that an act of Creation occurred, (just humour me at this stage) only in the sense that our universe and all therein was Caused to come into the physical existance we are part of some 13.8 billion years ago, give or take a week or so, because real Creation can't possibly have an absolute beginning, then whatever Caused this is outside natural order and outside of physical reality. Natural order did not exist until the elements of natural order attained their cohesive relationships of order. Before that is beyond the range of science and thus our perception, certainly in any empirical sense.
Now we are led to believe that a Causation did occur because if we go with natural order alone we end up in a state of infinite regression to get back to a start and if the regression is infinite then you never arrive at the present or the beginning. Bit like the frog who only jumps halfway to the lilly pad each hop, therefore he never gets there, therefore a Creative or Causation event occurred. There are other evidences of a sort such as the law of Cause and effect and order from disorder and many other evidential subtitles of a Cause. We then call this Cause, God and that's where all the fun begins. Because this Essence of All-consciousness which is completely beyond human reasoning is then dressed in all sorts of silly clothes and He tells preachers they must buy 54 million dollar jets, etc.
Detection invariably comes down to faith and this is a dirty word to the sceptic and atheist. After pushing science to the very edges of reality there are still many unanswered questions concerning beginnings, life, the nature of life, the human condition compared to the animal condition, can luck really create a universe and life and is it really possible for natural order that is not imbued with Will and Purpose and Cause to produce anything when without these attributes it is no more than two words? So detection is kind of a test and there may be a wisdom in this.
Regarding the 1844 which is the bedrock of the three major American religions, primarily focused upon by William Miller. This always fascinated me because my mother's best friend was a Mormon who was always trying to convert her. Studying Mormonism led me to research on the Baha'i Faith and bingo, they trace their beginning from 1844.
The Great Disappointment after Christ did not appear in 1844 led to the formation of many new religions especially in the US as a means of coming to terms with a crushing sense of the failure of expectation. Baha'u'llah claims to be the return of Christ and it's a strong claim.

Fair enough. I only asked you because you talk about a spiritual domain outside the physical domain.
I don't understand how your explanation of a God solves the infinite regression problem and ask you to please explain how it does unless, of course, this also falls into the "I know next to nothing but like to pretend I do" category.
If it does. let us both pour a glass of single malt whiskey and toast our mutual ignorance.
