You introduced North Korea and the United States into the conversation, which I think is very off-topic.
But to answer you, the social problems you allude to in the US are directly related to the secularization of the public education system and the philosophy of those running it, which include some very evil people in very high places.
This establishment regards morality and religion to be outside the purview of a proper education.
We are reaping the fruit of this misguided idea.
It is absurd to call for the elimination of moral and religious instruction in public schools, of teachings that promote behavior
like non-violence and "Thou Shalt Not Murder", and then blame those who support moral and religious instruction for the resulting violence.
