The future certainly looks good for Lithium.

It is inevitable though, that concerns will be raised.

Remember the kerfuffle over the potential for lithium ion batteries in mobile phones to cause brain cancer? It's been a couple of decades now, so time seems to have disproven that theory.

Then of course at the turn of the century. was the scare that laptop computers cause infertility. This was moreso about heat generated in the genital area. The answer was to change the name to Notebooks. Ah humans, we always find the cheese.

So ... how are we gonna go having a 100kWh Lithium EV battery under our seat for hours of a day??? Electromagnetic radiation to the goolies? Sitting on a 100 kWh or even 200 kWh battery, is at least enough to make someone suspicious.

This is a question that will be raised on EVs more and more. Considering the size of mobile phones and the level of concern there, will the cancer causing concern of EMR from EV batteries be similarly magnified?

Perhaps like mobile phones, it will take decades until these similar concerns are put to rest.
