"They forget that that they are on a very small blue dot of which only a small part is conducive to human life that is orbiting an average star; that star will relative to the age of the earth soon become too hot to sustain life on the blue dot. Thereafter the blue dot will be consumed by the average star when it becomes a red giant.

They forget that diseases, including congenital diseases still cut lives short, and as humans we are so far from being morally developed that we still wage war with each other to momentary gain control of a small bit of the blue dot."

Well .. yeah, maybe ... but apart from that, we're pretty special to the rest of the Universe aren't we ?


Actually, Humanity is special at this level but seems to lack any appreciation of scale ... or modesty !
No wonder "high fives" all round is now almost obligatory even when little Johny does his first successful trip to the potty !

In times past for people who thought (and still think) the night sky was a dome of little lights put there by God, and Earth was the centre of Creation, that attitude is understandable.
Yet with all we know, however incomplete, still it persists. Very odd.
