I was only half joking with my "top-down macro scattergun" approach.
I am an "elderly conservative" (financially, not politically) who can't see why I should pay a couple of bucks to buy yesterday's news thrown over the fence which is what funnymentalists base their judgements on. No amateur could possibly understand NCP even if (s)he made it their life's work. And that holds true for all our "blue chip" stocks. We, the great unwashed, are told nothing, at least nothing timely. While I haven't studied it, I doubt that any of our top 100 have breezed through the last 10 years unschathed.
I have reversed a near disasterous 2001 by believing Bonner, Russell, Wiggan et al. I use chat sites to get leads but with many years of reading I have learned to be selective. I would never put Stocko on ignore BUT....
