We have plentiful evidence to show the Universe exists but nothing relating to how it came about, if it's current existence is a one off shot, a part of a cycle, etc, or something as yet unimagined.....We have no evidence for a Creator, which may or may not exist, but does not seem likely given the absence of evidence and the chaotic deterministic, self evolving universe on a macro scale. Therefore the existence of a Creator is a faith based belief, not a justified conviction. Often held on the basis of desire. Desire for meaning. Desire for certainty. Desire for ultimate justice, eternal life....in effect, trading truth for a sense of comfort and certainty. The truth that is traded being the fact that Nobody Knows.
