Thankyou billy it is not often you agree with me. Clearly some kind of follow-up to the apology will be made and that will mean the feds spending some money.
I agree that lawyers need to be kept out of it and as I said before personal compensation will not help the most.
In Canada they set up a fund for their Indigenous people, like the future fund, and Indigenous people could choose how the money it generated was spent. I believe the capital is tied up and only the income is available to spend. Reports I have seen indicate that this has been very successful whereas paying individual compensation has mostly failed to help people.
