You are very welcome. I don't mind sharing some, I had mentioned parts in a post, a long time ago

Most of my career was with major corporations, in the IT and Telecom industry. I held a number of positions in engineering, software development, business development, and marketing. I am familiar with several Telecom markets around the world, including Indonesia, having dealt with operators there.

I was asked by a company I worked for at the time to head an IT subsidiary we owned and that was not performing well, wasting tons of money. After some overdue changes in management the company performed well, it was simply a question of good management. Shortly after that I got head-hunted by a consulting company who was often contracted by Boards to fix failing or ailing companies. I spent a few years doing just that, fixing companies. The package was a dream and hard to refuse, but I do not wish that job on anyone. At the end of the day, no matter how successful you are, it is an ungrateful job. You are perceived as the axe wielder when you arrive, and you know you are not there for long, and certainly not to be liked or to make friends. I felt more of a mercenary than a professional so I quit and returned to 'building new things' instead of 'fixing broken things'! Anyway, having done that for some time, and when I see some familiar symptoms in companies I watch, it is not hard to develop an opinion about how a company is performing and what it would take for it to perform better. Still, being on the outside, it remains an educated opinion, not intimate knowledge.

As for access to information, the companies I worked for used to spend millions each year on market research and industry reports from Gartner, Forrester, IDC and a bunch of similar research organisations and databases. Once you know your way through the maze, or have good friends there, getting info on anything is no more complicated than an email or a Google search.

Regarding media and content, I was a customer/user not a provider. I often dealt with companies like TV2U that supplied us with technology for video streaming (live and on demand) as well as content (commercial and produced for us). It was essentially for our in-house consumption. We used it for all sorts of purposes, mostly for educating and training our staff around the world, some motivational or team building interactive commercial videos, but also live for our conferences and major international company events (similar to TED). I understand the principles and know what it takes to implement and use the technology but I am not a subject matter expert. I often wondered why TV2U was not considering the corporate market as well, its a much easier market than Telcos!

    Hope that answers your query.
