    I'll say this bones, and I've been reluctant to join the fray here on HC for obvious reasons. The thing that heartened me most about Rudd's speech was his comment that there can not be a one size fits all solution. That what will be required will be consultation with each individual group to mutually work out a unique approach to solve the particular problems of each community. This at last recognises that our indigenous population is not homogenous and that needs will vary from community to community; from urban to remote and from developed to undeveloped... Thus the idea of the intervention was flawed from the start. It sought to impose a solution rather than permit indigenous groups to become part of the solution. Time will tell but I do feel we may be making a start...
