Matter/energy, as mentioned, has well defined properties, which means that matter/energy does not act in a random manner, but probabilistic on a quantum scale (there are several deterministic interpretations) and deterministically (classic physics, relativity) on a macro scale. Matter/energy is not God, yet it determines the formation of atoms, molecules, physical structures and their properties, etc, without any input from a creator.
