Yes this will be a key plank in the process no doubt. At the same time I reckon we could do a lot worse than get alongside Hatch in helping us get through all of it successfully having just been recognized and received honors again in this area. ( see below article )
Let's continue together the construction of a new Québec

Québec City, May 29, 2018. - Representatives of the Quebec Federation of Municipalities, the Union of Quebec Municipalities and the cities of Montreal and Quebec City today participated in the Québec-municipalities table chaired by the Prime Minister from Quebec, Philippe Couillard. For the occasion, he was accompanied by Ministers Martin Coiteux and Isabelle Melançon. Since December 6, 2016, when the Declaration on the Recognition of Municipalities as Proximity Governments was signed, the Prime Minister chairs the Québec-Municipal Table once a year.

"Municipalities are key partners in protecting the environment and fighting climate change. I am very pleased to have been able to discuss with them today important issues such as the protection of wetlands and waterways, the modernization of our environmental permit regime and the situation of sorting centers. The environment is everyone's business. Together, in partnership with, among others, the municipalities, we will succeed in moving Quebec towards a low-carbon, modern and sustainable society. "

During this meeting, the issue was the tax pact and the transfer of the QST point, as well as the review of municipal infrastructure programs and the second phase of federal infrastructure investments. Discussions on consultations on draft regulations under the Environment Quality Act and on the conservation of wetlands and waterways have also taken place.

    • Regarding the second phase of the Government of Canada's infrastructure plan, $ 1.8 billion was earmarked in Quebec for the green infrastructure component, $ 5.18 billion for the public transit component and $ 257 million for the social and infrastructure component. $ 288 million for rural and northern communities, for a total of $ 7.5 billion over 10 years.
