All design in the Cooper Basin will need to presume that surface water availability is nil. Everything will be aircooled. Next question is how best to get most efficient air cooling. I find it puzzling that all the artistic illustrations always show acres of air coolers neatly arrayed just above the burning sand in the desert.
Some questions I have been mulling over:
* Is there not a ground effect?
* How does the natural air temperature change with height?
* Should the array be a vertical stack or some other geometry?
* Could a power tower be built over the cooling array to extract the last dregs of energy from low grade heat?
