Chill out folks. I would imagine the drop in pressure is because it is flowing. Bit like have an overheated radiator. The pressure is extreme. What happens when you take off the radiator cap apart from getting burnt. THE PRESSURE DROPS. Similar here I would imagine. Turn on your garden hose and the open the nozzle to let the water out.
